SLL Weekly Update #3

All rosters are set and we are ready to get the season underway. You should have received an email from our system with your team assignments and should have heard from your coach. Let us know if you have not.

Practices start as early as tomorrow, although last night’s rain and cold AM temps may impact some of you. Coaches will be in touch as we get updates.

If you have not downloaded the GameChanger app and found your team, please do so ASAP. The app automatically syncs your roster and schedule from our website, and coaches will be using it to communicate.

WEATHER TEXT SYSTEM
We have a text system that allows us to send urgent updates (usually weather related). To received texts from us, you need to opt in but texting Spring2023leagues9515 to 334-310-2497.

OPENING DAY PARADE
Our annual opening day parade/opening ceremonies is scheduled for March 18th (even though games start on 3/11). For our new families, this is a tradition that dates back 40+ years. Each team will parade in decorated trucks from Campbell Middle School to Brinkley Park. It’s truly a memorable experience for everyone.

More details will be sent out soon but if you own a truck or have access to a truck, please be prepared for your team or another team to ask to use it. With 90+ teams this spring, we will certainly need as many trucks as we can get.

TEAM MOM/DAD
If you are interested in helping your child’s team but don’t want to be on the field coaching, please let your coach know you’d like to be the Team Mom or Team Dad. Responsibilities include coordinating the team uniforms, raffle tickets, fundraiser basket, Braves day tickets, team snacks each week, and the parade.

We will have a Team Mom/Dad meeting on Tuesday, February 28th at 6pm. More info to come.
