Important Parade Information

Parade day is Saturday, March 18th!! The start time of the parade has been pushed back to 11am.

The SLL parade is a 60+ year tradition for our park. We decorate trucks and parade our teams with a police/fire escort from Campbell Middle School to Brinkley park. It is a super fun morning that your players will remember for years! Each team needs a pick-up truck. We have been working with teams about trucks and if your team doesn't have one, the league will arrange a truck for your team.

Trucks need to arrive at Campbell Middle School at 9:45am. The school address is 3295 Atlanta Road Smyrna, GA 30080. Trucks will enter the school from the Campbell Road side of the school. There will be board members there to assist with parking. Each division will have a row of trucks and they will be identified by a sign in the window of the truck.

Players need to dress very warmly but should wear their jerseys (over a sweatshirt ideally) and hats if possible. Players who have games later in the day or on Sunday can wear baseball pants or other pants if they choose. All players should wear sneakers instead of cleats in the trucks.

All parents are asked to park in the parking lot to the left of the school or back by the field on Howell Drive - no parent cars will be allowed to enter the bus parking lot where the trucks are. Spots will be limited so bring as few cars as possible please. Try to have your player at the school starting at 10am. Park and walk them over to the truck lines and find your team truck. Teams will have from 10am till 10:45am to decorate your trucks and eat donuts, which are still on as planned. Examples of decorations can be found HERE

Once decorations are done, parents will leave players with coaches and drive to the spot where you want to watch the parade from. Two adults must be in the trucks with TB, PW, and Rookie. One adult must be in the trucks with AA and older.

We are going to be handing out trash bags to each team and we need to make sure that all trash is picked up before we leave the parking lot. We will have a trash collection spot at the parade - up in front of the trucks (near the donut pick up area).

The Parade leaves at 11am sharp. If cars do not leave Campbell middle school before the parade, they will be trapped at the school and will not see the parade. Good spots to view parade are along Atlanta Road, Smyrna First Methodist Church (King Street) parking lot,
and Concord Road between Atlanta Road and King Springs Road. Attached is a map of the parade route.

Once the trucks arrive at the park, coaches will take their team to Bartlett Field for opening ceremonies, which should start around 11:30am. Opening ceremonies will take less than 30 minutes. Coaches with 12:15/12:30/12:45am games at Brinkley Park will bring their players directly to their game field. All other coaches will bring their players back to their trucks to be picked up by parents. Please do not take your child without the coach knowing!

Once all players are picked up, trucks must be moved out of the park or into parking spots immediately.

Parking is going to be a major challenge at the park so we encourage you to walk to the park from the parade route watching spot if possible. The American legion and Smyrna First Baptist Church are aware of the parade and you can park there for the morning and walk over to the park. Please note: the Smyrna First Methodist Church parking lot will not be available however due to it being rented out to another group.
